For this Cinematic Storytelling assignment, we had to reimagine the classic Selkie myth. 

1. The sailor spots the selkies in the water

2. Sailor takes seal skin, trapping the selkie on land

3. The selkie is trapped with the sailor on land, separated from her home and family

4. The child of the sailor and selkie finds his father with the seal skin

5. The child stands alone, watching his mother flee back to the sea shortly after the child reunited her with her seal skin

A quick color script. Warm reds = Father/Sailor, Cool tones = Mother/Selkie, and the child is a mix of the two. I chose to use the Zorn palette for this because of its lack of blue. This symbolizes the way the Mother/Selkie is removed and denied the ocean - by excluding blue I hoped to intensify its absence.
